Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) is a sport for everyone! Body type and size are not nearly as important in tumbling and trampoline as in artistic gymnastics. People of all ages and body types are capable of performing on an equal level, even competitively, thanks to the unique spring devises used in the T&T events. The movement skills and kinesthetic awareness (“air sense”) acquired in T&T transfer perfectly to other sports such as cheerleading, diving, jump roping, and wake boarding.
TumbleStars T&T Class & Program Structure
We start all TumbleStars T&T classes with general fitness activities which include cardio, strength and flexibility. After the warm-up, athletes will learn and practice a variety of tumbling skills using spring floors, tumbling specific mats, drills and trampolines including the TumbleTrak – a long trampoline that enters the foam pit. Jump’In Gym also has a rod floor that is designed with fiber glass rods to aid in spring and air time. Skills range from basic handstands and cartwheels to back flips and twisting, depending on class level.
All children have different needs and reach success in different ways. Jump’In Gym feels every child should have an equal opportunity to compete if they wish, no matter which path they take. One way to make it onto one of the competitive teams at Jump’In Gymnastics & Tumbling is through the T&T program. The competitive tumbling program is great for all ages and skill levels. Athletes develop air awareness and supreme basics which lead to more advanced skills like double flips and twists. Here is a breakdown of how your athlete can become a MS Rebounders competitive tumbler.
#1 – A physically strong and flexible student, who has shown exceptional listening skills, an extreme level of work ethic and ability to make corrections quickly in class will receive an invitation in the mail to try the JumpStars T&T Pre-Team for 4 weeks to make sure it is a good fit. Jump’In Gym sends out invitations twice a year: April & December.
#2 - Students in our Intermediate and Advanced classes may move into one of our tumbling team programs: JumpStars T&T Pre-Team or MS Rebounders T&T Team. Please e-mail the Tumbling & Trampoline team director at tumbleteam@jumpin-gym.com with questions.
